Submissions
Here at Quirk, we are always on the lookout for strange and wonderful ideas. Many of our favorite books have come from unsolicited submissions.
Before you submit your idea to Quirk Books, please familiarize yourself with our publishing program. This will save us time and save you postage. We specialize in entertaining nonfiction books that are bolstered by very strong graphic design. We publish fiction books that are unlike anything you've ever seen. We will not publish your grandmother’s memoirs. You get the idea.
How Can I Submit My Idea to Quirk?
The easiest way to submit your idea is to e-mail a query letter to one of our editors. The query letter should be a short description of your project. Try to limit your letter to one page. Many of our best books were pitched in a single paragraph, and a few were pitched in a single sentence.
You can also mail materials directly to our office. If you would like a reply, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. If you want your materials returned, please include adequate postage.

Who Should I Contact?
See “Who’s Who” at Quirk for detailed information about our editors and their interests. Or follow these helpful guidelines:
If your project is about humor, pop culture, history, sports, literature, sex, monsters, or “guy stuff,” send it to Jason Rekulak (jason at quirkbooks.com).
If your project is about cooking, technology, politics, travel, dating, relationships, beer and wine, family, travel, or hillbilly music, send it to Margaret McGuire (margaret at quirkbooks.com).
If your project is children's nonfiction, tween, YA fiction, a picture book, cooking, children's cooking, humor, or literature, send it to Jennifer Adams (jen at quirkbooks.com)
Please don’t call us to follow up. We try our best to reply to all queries, and we always respond if we’re interested.
